Starting this fall, you’ll be able to renew your passport online, making the process easier and more convenient than ever. Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced this game-changing update alongside the unveiling of Canada’s new passport design, featuring enhanced security features and vibrant new pages.

Say goodbye to long waits and lines at passport offices! With the new online system, you’ll be able to upload your documents and passport photo securely on a government website.

Please note that the online option is currently available only for passport renewals. For new passport applications, including those for children, the traditional application process with Service Canada will still apply.

This digital advancement comes as a response to the overwhelming passport applications experienced last year, ensuring a smoother experience for travelers.
