Express Entry Draw Invites 500 Francophone Profiles for PR

Canada has issued 500 Invitations to Apply to candidates with French language proficiency in a new Express Entry draw.

The September 27 draw featured a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 472, 37 points lower than the previous French-language draw on August 2.

Canada has now conducted the following draws this year:

  • 16 all-program draws
  • Four PNP draws
  • Four draws targeted at French speakers
  • Two draws targeted at healthcare occupations
  • One draw targeted at STEM occupations
  • One draw targeted at skilled trades
  • One draw targeted at Federal Skilled Worker candidates
  • One draw targeted at transport jobs

On September 26 and 27, 2023, the latest Express Entry draw sent out 3,000 invitations to apply for permanent residency (PR) in a ‘no program specified’ rounds of invitations and 500 invitations in a targeted draw for French-speakers only.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff score drops by 27 points to 504 in this ‘no program specified’ draw.

IRCC held back-to-back ‘no program specified’ Express Entry Draw in the last two weeks and the good news is that the CRS cutoff score finally again drops to near 500.

Similarly, we saw a significant drop in the CRS cutoff score in the August 15 ‘no program specified Express Entry Draw, but the absence of a draw after then increased the CRS cutoff beyond the 530.

Hopefully, IRCC now continues with regular Express Entry draws and we see the CRS cutoff below 500 in the upcoming round of invitations.

On September 8, 2023, IRCC added more occupations to the list of occupations eligible for 50 additional CRS points with a certificate of qualification.
